Dr. Boston is a board certified Physiatrist and is also board certified in Pain Medicine. She was interested in the field of pain medicine due to her desire to help patients optimize their quality of life. She is also interested in preventive medicine by helping patients to espouse a healthy lifestyle with nutrition, hydration, exercise, and proper sleep habits. After becoming discouraged by the failure of opioids to make patients better, she has adopted an algorithm that avoids the use of opioids. Dr. Boston believes that pain can be treated and prevented using more natural means. She is thrilled to join the team of dedicated physicians and health care providers at the Akasha Center for Integrative Medicine in Santa Monica in January 2015 as the Director of Pain Management and Sports Medicine.
